Volunteers are essential in helping the Wiregrass Museum of Art fulfil our mission of creating great experiences through art, for all ages. Our volunteer program is varied, flexible and allows you the options of becoming a docent or volunteering on your own.
Year round Docents provide Museum tours to visitors and school children, while aiding in educational outreach to students, visitors, and the Wiregrass community. Docents undergo a training period that focuses on the Museum's permanent collection, special exhibitions and outreach lessons. Docents agree to serve for at least one year as gallery educators following their training. Contact Jamie Richey for more information.
Special Projects Volunteers
Special Projects Volunteers support the Museum through their contributions as an individual. They assist with Museum events and lectures, help with special family programs, assist with mailings and computer data entry, working within various Museum departments. Special Projects Volunteers must be 16 years or older and are required to fill out a form letting us know their areas of interest and the amount of time they are willing to contribute. They are contacted as opportunities arise. Contact Jamie Richey for more information.
