Tours and Programs

 

Guided Tours

Guided tours are offered throughout the year. Tours emphasize school

learning objectives and introduce relevant art concepts through discussion,

questioning strategies and group activities. Tours focus on the Alabama

Course of Study Requirements for the elementary level grades K-5. Tours

can be customized to suit your specific area of study.

 

Hands-on Art Lesson

During the hands-on lesson, students visit the WMA Art Studio and are

led in a grade-level appropriate art-making project by the Museum’s Art

Educator. All supplies are included. The art studio will comfortably fit 30

students.

 

•Please allow at least one hour (30 min. each) for both the guided gallery

tour and hand-on art lesson.

• Guided tours with a hands-on lesson are available for all ages

Tuesday – Friday 10 am – 3 pm

•All guided tours must be booked at least two weeks in advance.

•Maximum group size is 30 students; special arrangements may be made

for groups larger than 30 by contacting the Art Education Director.

One chaperone is required for every 15 students at no charge;

$3 fee for each additional chaperone.

•If a scheduled tour is more than 15 minutes late without notice, the

tour must be rescheduled.

•Cost: $5/per student. Payment is due on the day of the tour.
